A General Introduction
I. Definition of Terms.
A. Eschatology: "The doctrine of last or final things, as death, resurrection, immortality, judgment" (Webster).
B. Millennium: comes from two Latin words, MILLE meaning "one thousand" and ANNUS meaning "years." Most Bible students use the term Millennium to refer to the thousand years of Rev. 20:3-5 in which Satan is bound and certain saints reign with Christ.
C. Ism: denotes a doctrine or theory.
D. Premillennialism: is the doctrine that Christ will return to the Earth BEFORE a literal 1,000 year reign on earth.
E. Postmillennialism: "The POSTMIL looks for a fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies of a glorious age of the church upon earth through the preaching of the gospel under the power of the Holy Spirit. He looks forward to all nations becoming Christian and living in peace one with another. He relates all prophecies to history and time. After the triumph of Christianity throughout the earth he looks for the second coming of the Lord." (An Eschatology of Victory by J. Marcelus Kik, p. 4)
F. Amillennialism: is the belief that the millennium of Rev. 20 has nothing to do with the second coming.
II. The Importance of the Subject.
A. Dispensational Premillennialism is the latest theological fad: being one of the most popular false doctrines of our time.
B. Since it is such a popular doctrine, those who wish to teach their neighbors and friends must be prepared for this doctrine.
C. The wild claims and applications of scriptures, by Premillennialists, bring ridicule and distrust of the Bible in the eyes of the unbelieving members of the public. (see appendix #1).
D. Premillennialism effects ones view of the whole Bible. In the words of one of the most popular Premillennialism writers of our day: "Premillennialism is a system of interpretation which involves the meaning and significance of the entire Bible, defines the meaning and course of the present age, determines the present purpose of God, and gives both material and method to theology, that is something else. It is the growing realization that premillennialism is more than a dispute about Revelation 20...It is not too much to say that millennialism is a determining factor in Biblical interpretation of comparable importance to the doctrines of verbal inspiration, the deity of Christ, substitutionary atonement, and bodily resurrection." (Walvoord, john. The Millennial Kingdom, pp 15,16)
III. Major Tenants of Premillennialism.
A. God had two major purposes; one concerning the nation of Israel, the other concerning the church.
1. Most Premillennialists theologians do believe in the postponement theory but they DO NOT believe that God did not plan for the church in advance..They believe that the church was in the mind of God from the very beginning. But he said nothing about it in the Old Testament.
B. To the Premillennialists, God's purpose for Israel involves the following:
1. The making of Abraham's seed into a great nation.(Jews)
2. The giving to them a specified piece of land for an everlasting possession. (Israel)
3. A covenant with David that his seed would rule over Israel forever.
4. A captivity as punishment for the nation's iniquity.
5. Assurances that they would be restored under the Messiah.
6. A seven year period of terrible tribulation which is divided into two 3 1/2 year periods. The second half is the "Great Tribulation." The "rapture" precedes the 7 years.
7. The 2nd coming of Christ and the establishment of the Old Testament kingdom for one thousand years. (This occurs at the end of the Great Tribulation).
8. Israel during this thousand years is the nation supreme, and the temple, priesthood and sacrificial system are restored.
9. The loosing of Satan for a little season at the end of the thousand years. His defeat.
10. The resurrection of the ungodly and the final judgment.
11. The destruction of the world by fire and the making of a new heaven and earth. The eternal state ensues." (McGuiggan, Jim. THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND THE PLANET EARTH, pp. 11-12.)

Why Premillennialism is so Popular
INTRODUCTION:
Last week we discussed the different "isms" of eschatology. We dwelt at great length on the fact that Dispensational Pre-tribulational Premillennialism is one of the most popular false doctrine in America today. It is a complex doctrine, which is not easy to understand. Thus, in an effort to justify expending the effort and time necessary to study and master this complicated doctrine, perhaps it would help if we first discuss WHY this doctrine is so popular. Then, next week, for the same reason, we will discuss HOW they can get such a bizarre doctrine from the Bible.
Below you will find some of the reasons listed that Premillennialism is such a popular doctrine. Using information gleaned from our class discussion, elaborate and explain each point.

Lesson 3
How Premillennialists Misinterpret Scripture
INTRODUCTION:
Last week we discussed WHY Premillennialism is such a popular doctrine today. Before we discuss the subject of Premillennialism in any detail we should finish laying the ground work for our study by studying yet one more subject: HOW the Premillennialists are able to read such bizarre things as those taught in appendixes I & II into the Bible.
I. List and explain the reasons discussed, in class that Premillennialists are able to read so much into the Bible.
A. BY PIECING TOGETHER SCATTERED VERSES OF SCRIPTURE
B. BY HIDING BEHIND "DOUBLE APPLICATION" OF SCRIPTURE
C. BY IGNORING THE GENERAL NATURE OF SOME BIBLE PROPHECY
D. BY INSISTING ON A LITERAL FULFILLMENT OF ALL PROPHECY.
(SEE QUOTES BELOW FOR EXAMPLES).
"There is a growing realization in the theological world that the crux of the millennial issue is the question of method of interpreting scripture. Premillennarians follow the so-called 'grammatical-historical literal interpretation while amillennarians use a spiritualizing method" (John Woovard The Millennial Kingdom, p. 59)
The preceding quote indicates the Premillennialists' attitude toward prophecy. Jim McGuiggan summarized the attitude of the Premillennialists on this point by saying, "Now let me illustrate how this principle is applied, if you read in a text about a promised even that hasn't been literally fulfilled - it is yet future because God doesn't go back on his promises. Does Ezekiel speak of a temple the like of which hasn't been literally built? Then you can be sure IT IS TO BE BUILT!"

Lesson 4
The Postponement Theory
INTRODUCTION:
Perhaps the least defensible point of the Premillennial scheme of things is their POSTPONEMENT THEORY. Premillennialists teach (although some of their followers are not aware of it) that Christ came to set up the kingdom of God. They contend that he knew, in advance that he would be rejected and would have to postpone the kingdom and set up the church instead, but that he told no one of his plans to do so. They contend that the Old Testament says nothing of the New Testament church or the New Covenant.
Was the kingdom really postponed? examine the following scriptures and decide for yourself.

Lesson 5
The Second Coming
INTRODUCTION:
Premillennialists teach some rather bizarre and dramatic things about the second coming. Have you ever seen the bumper sticker that reads "WARNING: IN CASE OF THE RAPTURE THIS CAR WILL BE DRIVERLESS"? Do you know what they mean by this?
Premillennialists teach that there will be two second comings. In the first, Jesus will come in the air and snatch away the living and dead saints. There are at least four different versions of this rapture theory: the Pre, Post and mid tribulationists and the partial rapturist. Most, however believe in the SECRET PRETRIBULATION RAPTURE. In this scenario, Jesus will come and SECRETLY snatch away the saints. Cars will be left driverless (hence the bumper stickers). Machines will be left running and unattended. Perhaps the most bizarre part of this theory is the fact that no one will be able to figure out where the missing people all went. There will then follow a seven year period of terrible TRIBULATION (see appendix #2 for a description of the tribulation). At the end of the tribulation Jesus will then come in a second, second coming and resurrect the saints that died during the Tribulation. He will then reign with the saints, in Jerusalem for 1,000 years. At the end of the 1,000 year reign he will then resurrect the dead and judge only them. Then the saints who reigned during the millennium will return to Heaven with Jesus, and Earth will be destroyed.
1. The Premillennialists use I Thess. 4:15-17 to teach the rapture and two resurrections. How does this passage contradict this theory?
NOTHING OF THEIR DOCTRINE IS MENTIONED IN THE VERSE. WICKED DEAD, JERUSALEM OR A ONE THOUSAND YEAR REIGN. IT DOES SAY WE WILL BE WITH CHRIST ABOVE FOREVER.
2. It is taught that in Col. 1:13, the word "Translated" is the word for Rapture. Why is this impossible? THE WORD TRANSLATED IS IN THE PAST TENSE.

3. John 6:40 THIS PASSAGE SAYS THE RIGHTEOUS WILL BE RAISED AT THE LAST DAY. THE PREMILLENNIALIST SAYS 1,000 YEARS BEFORE THE LAST DAY.
4. John 6:40 THIS PASSAGE TEACHES THAT THE GOOD AND BAD WILL ALL BE RESURRECTED IN THE SAME HOUR, NOT 1,000 YEARS APART.
5. Matt. 25:31-32 THE PASSAGE TEACHES A GENERAL RESURRECTION AND JUDGMENT, NOT TWO RESURRECTIONS AND JUDGMENTS.
6. II Pet. 3:10 WHEN THE LORD COMES NO ONE WILL EXPECT IT AND THE EARTH WILL BE DESTROYED AND THERE WILL JUST BE ONE DAY OF THE LORD.

Lesson 6
Some Lesser Known Doctrines of the Premillennialists
INTRODUCTION:
Because of the Premillennialists' insistence that all scripture is to be literally fulfilled and that any scripture not literally fulfilled is yet future; they are forced to teach some rather strange doctrines. The following list of Premillennialists' doctrines is taken from THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND THE PLANET EARTH, pp. 24-43.
With each doctrine stated below, explain why (by using the scriptures listed) the doctrine is false.
1. Premillennialists teach that the Levitical priesthood is going to be restored in the Millennium. They get this doctrine from Ez. 44:15-27.
Heb. 7:25-28; 10:12; 8:4-5
2. Premillennialists teach that the bloody sacrifices for sin will be restored in the Millennium.
3. Premillennialists teach that circumcision will be restored as essential to communion with God based on Ezek. 44:6-9
Gal. 5:1-4
4. Premillennialists believe that Sabbath observance is to be restored as law which will be binding on all nations.
Col. 2:14-16
5. Premillennialists believe the "new covenant" of Jer. 31:31 ff. is not yet in force and that it will not come into force until the Millennium.

What Does the Bible Really Say About the End?
INTRODUCTION:
Premillennialists have made the study of last things a confusing and frightening subject. With their many different brands of Premillennial theology and their incredibly intricate and complex theories, they can easily confuse and befuddle a new convert to the point that he has no idea what the Bible really teaches on the subject.
We have discussed a few of the things taught by Premillennialists. If you wish to study their doctrine further we would recommend Jim McGuiggan's book, THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND THE PLANET EARTH. Now we must decide what the Bible really teaches about the end of time. Behind each of the scriptures listed below, state the lessons learned from that scripture about the end of time.

Read it and believe or mock it, but you an prove it is true by doing a little research.
If a speeding car were about to hit you, wouldn't you want someone to warn you? We are trying to warn you.
* Russia invades Afghanistan.
* European Common Market accepts its 10th nation.
* Will Russia and the Arab nations invade Israel? Yes.
* Will the U.S.A. become involved in this war? Yes.
* Did you know the Bible tells us what is happening?
WHAT IS GOING ON?
People have said the end was near many times in the past-true, but did you know the Bible tells us that no prophecy of the end times meant anything until Israel was reborn into a nation?
Did you know that the Bible tells us that 40 years would not go by from Israel's rebirth till Jesus returns.
* God is not the author of confusion. Satan is. (I Cor. 14:33)
* Hear instruction and be wise. (Prov. 8:33)
All of a sudden many people are preaching about the end times by books and TV. Hal Lindsay, Billy Graham, Rex Humbard, Jim Bakker, Charles Taylor, Jack Van Impe, The Jewish Voice, Kenneth Copeland, and so many-- have been led by the Holy Spirit to alert the world.
The Bible commands us at least 7 times to watch, be ready and KNOW when it will happen. Even people that do not know the Bible, can feel something is about to happen. To them that know the Bible no explanation is needed. To them controlled by Satan, none is possible.
Peter Schroeder in "Science Speaks" stated it was virtually impossible to make 11 straight predictions 1900 years into the future. There was only one chance in 80 with 63 zeros after it that it could be done.
A dying declaration is considered positive proof in any court of law. Why? When you are dying you don't lie.
Jesus Christ's words as He hung on the cross, dying, would have to be considered positive evidence.
As he died for your sins-He said Father forgive them for they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34) Father, into Thy hands I commend My spirit. (Luke 23:46) Just before being hung on the cross, He said He was the Son of God. (Matt. 27:43, Mark 14:62)
Let's prove the Bible is true, and prove we are nearing the end of the last 40 years before Jesus returns.
Can you write 15 exact predictions 2000 years into the future, the year 4000 AD. Include how a nation would be reborn, what nations would be aligned together, and the size of a nation's army? Do 15 sets (40 prophecies) and be perfect. If it happened, it would have to be God's word.
1. The Jewish people would be scattered all over the earth, but in one single day, Israel would become a nation again. This happened May 14, 1948. (1 out of one)
The Bible says-the last 40 years would begin with this event. Add 40 years-May 14, 1988. Jesus may return before this date. The last 7 years (each year is 360 days) are horrible times (the tribulation).
Subtract 7x360 days - June 20, 1981. BEFORE that date, the translation (rapture) and tribulation will begin.
2. Israel must regain the city of Jerusalem. It happened in June 1967. (2 out of 2)
The Bible gives us two methods to know we are in the last days. ( this contradicts Acts 2:16-17, Heb. 1:1 David E. Parks) One by Israel's rebirth. The other by a precise line of events that come together at one time. When this last piece of the puzzle fits into place, THE TIME IS HERE.
Only two events we cannot know exactly, (the rapture and Jesus Christ's return.) We can know the generation, even the month and week, but not the exact day or hour.
3. The Christian church at the time of the end would be neither hot nor cold for Jesus, but lukewarm. God will spew them out (Many church leaders will not go to Haven). The Bible says you have acquired wealth. In preaching Salvation, the church is wretched, pitiful, poor, and blind. Open your eyes and see. This is the Church today.
Many are ceremonies. About 1/2 of the churches know the times we are in, others just mock it because of their ignorance. (3 out of 3).
4. The Bible gives us 31 descriptions of the people at the time of the end. Here are some:
A. Some people would depart from the faith and go into devil worship (talking to spirits, witches).
B. People would seem to have no conscience.
C. There would be a decrease in marriages.
D. Some people would stop eating meats.
E. People would become lovers of themselves. Remember the commercials on TV - I do it for ME?
F. People would be disobeying parents.
G. People would be grateful for nothing.
H. Homosexuality would increase.
I. People would be without self control in sex.
J. People would dislike good people.
K. People would become untrustworthy.
L. People would love pleasures more than God. Our motto In God We Trust has become a joke.
M. People would appear to be Godly but deny His power. This the (self-enlightened) people, who appear to be one with God. Hell is awaiting them because they were never born again through Jesus.
N. People would hear God's word but not understand. They think they are saved, yet are not.
O. People would be scoffing about the end times.
P. PEOPLE WOULD BE TAKING DRUGS.
100% right on every one. How could you doubt at this point. (4 out of 4)
5. There would be weapons that could destroy the world. The Bible describes the effects of the newly created neutron bomb. (5 out of 5)
6. There would be more earthquakes. (6 out of 6)
7. At the time of the end-famines. Over 50,000,000 people died on earth in 1979 from starvation. (7 out of 7)
8. The Gospel must be published in all the world, then shall the end, come. Perfect. Over 170 short wave stations are preaching the Bible into China and Russia. The U.S. has about 200,000 missionaries worldwide. (8 out of 8)
9. Russia and some Arab nations would be allied together-incredible. (9 out of 9)
10. People would hoard gold and silver. (10 out of 10)
11. Jerusalem would be a great problem. (11 out of 11)
Impossible-that 11 straight predictions could be made 2000 years ago and be perfect was 1 chance in 80 with 63 zeroes. There is more.
12. There would be a nation to the far east of Israel that spoke a strange language. How strange is Chinese to Hebrew? Their army would be 200 million. Perfect, that is the Chinese military reserves now. (12 out of 12)
13. A great Temple in Jerusalem must be nearly finished. Perfect. The Jerusalem Great Synagogue is on the same ground as the western Wall of Solomon's original temple. The western wall of today is considered as the Holy of Holies which was described in the Old Testament. The completion date is now. (13 out of 13)
14. Israel's currency at the time of the end would be the shekel. It was changed in 1980. (14 out of 14)
Even the BIGGEST skeptic in the world can see we are in the end times. Ask Jesus to come into your life NOW.
15. Last-there will be a 10 nation economic alliance, from the old Roman Empire nations. This is the EEC. the European Common Market. It is 9 nations. Most are N.A.T.O. members. Recently they created their own currency based on gold and a parliament. The Bible said-10 nations. It happened, they accepted a 10th nation-Greece took office Jan. 1, 1981. PERFECT. It is before the June 20 deadline. Forty prophecies in 15 sets, all perfect, all written over 1800 years ago. Even a newscaster can't give today's news this accurately. THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD AND WE HAVE JUST PROVED IT. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior NOW. The time for jokes and mocking is passed. When you are in bed about to die, you don't joke, you cry out. If you are there, hear me. For those in Jesus, rejoice, our redemption draws near.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT: THE RAPTURE AND TRIBULATION
Rapture is a term used to describe the removal from the earth of all living people that have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior and been born again. It will be as the day of Noah-all good people were removed before the flood (the flood in this case is the tribulation).
Whenever God brought judgments upon the earth, He removed His people. The raptured people will never know death (sleep). We will in the twinkling of an eye be changed and be with Jesus with a new body. We may be in the field or asleep but suddenly we will be with Jesus.
This will happen before the treaty is signed between Israel and the Antichrist who will head the EEC. The treaty will have a provision for military protection. Israel is afraid of an invasion from Russia and the Arabs.
This treaty may be in the works now. The rapture will come between now and June 20, 1981. Are you ready?
Have you prayed as a child to his father and begged for forgiveness of yours sins through Jesus? being born again is when your name is written in the Book of Life.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
THE TRIBULATION (7 YEARS)
Most Jews do not believe Jesus is God's Son. this is one reason God's bringing Israel to her knees.
The tribulation occurs near the end of the 40 years (before June 20, 1981) day 1 of this 7 - 360 day period is the signing of the treaty mentioned previously. Near the beginning is Russia's invasion (with Arab nations) of Israel, and famines. About one billion people die. Sin is great. All followers of Jesus are gone. There are opportunities to accept Jesus through the preaching of 144,000 Jews, but death by decapitation lies ahead. A one world system under a new world leader is set up. He will head the EEC. At the 3 1/2 year point he is killed with a wound in the head by a weapon. Satan appears to bring him back to life. He declares himself to be God. He defiles the great church. The ELECT Jews flee to a place where God will keep them for the last 3 1/2 years. A false prophet appears and forces everyone to take the number 666 (the number of the name of the Antichrist) put in their forehead or right hand (KJV-in, NIV-on). If anyone refuses, they can not buy or sell. The false prophet creates an image of the Antichrist. You must worship it or be beheaded.
Hell awaits people that worship the (image) and take the number. Elijah and Moses appear on the earth about this time. For 1,260 days. They warn people not to take the mark or worship the beast (Antichrist).
The last 3 1/2 years, no rain, plagues upon the earth, and parents eating children. Moses and Elijah are killed.
People rejoice, but 3 1/2 days later, their bodies lying in the streets, come back to life. China marches into Israel with 200 million troops across the dried up Euphrates River, 1/3 of what remains of earth's population is killed.
The Battle of Armageddon explodes, in 24 hours the earth is torn apart. Jesus returns with all of His Saints and every eye will see Him. If He would not have returned no life would remain on the earth. Few people are left alive.
THE ELECT were protected in a fault that opened. The blood at Armageddon - several feet deep.
The rapture and 7 year period is about to happen. This may-seem like a fairy tale, but remember, there are 10,385 prophecies in the Bible. EVERY ONE UP TO THIS TIME HAS COME TRUE WITHOUT ONE EXCEPTION.
The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God (Psalms 14:1). Are you ready to meet Jesus? If a heart attack or the rapture occurs now, do you know you have been born again? If you had to choose now of going to Heaven or Hell, where would you rather go? You are choosing hell if you do not accept Jesus today. You say, I believe I am a good person. The Bible says you are as filthy rags before God. You go to church, yet if you died right now, you would go to hell. Why? Because you haven't been born again. You say my church never preaches like this. Will you trust your ideas of religion, or your church, or will you trust God's word? God gives us freedom of choice. If we choose not to accept the way God gives us to enter Heaven, then WE ARE CHOOSING eternal separation from God.
YOU ASK, WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?
FOUR THINGS
1. Admit you are a sinner. The Bible tells us all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God.
2. Be willing to change, to turn from sin, live for Jesus and follow God's word. Ask for God to help you change. The Bible says if we are a friend of this world we are an enemy of God. If you are not for me, you are against me.
3. Believe in your heart Jesus Christ is the Son of god and died for your sins. If we commit a bank robbery we go to jail. Jesus never sinned. He died on the cross to pay the jail sentence for you.
4. Ask for forgiveness, ask for God's mercy. By faith receive Jesus Christ and the Spirit of God through Jesus will come into you.
I want you to do that shortly. (Matt. 4:14) Straight is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it.
Nicodemus was one of the most religious people in the Bible. In John 3:3, Jesus tells him it is not enough, you must be born again. You must ask for God's forgiveness through Jesus. you must confess publicly. Whenever Jesus called someone, He did it publicly. He said in Matt. 10:32, Confess me before men, and I will confess you before my Father in Heaven. I want you to do that NOW.
I have put a prayer in this paper, please say it. I want you to talk to your God. You are going to know, if you would die in 5 minutes, you will be with Jesus. Kneel right where you are. God is calling you. Your heart is pounding. You may have been baptized and confirmed but something in you is telling you-be sure. You may have strayed from God and you need to renew that now. Please pray. You have a choice now. Your god wants you to receive the gift of eternal life. Jesus died for your sins.
Are you sure there is nothing that stands between you and God, but you know there is. The Bible tells us there is a way which seems right to man, but the ways there of are the ways of death. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. There is no name under heaven whereby we may be saved except Jesus. It is not a question, if you know Jesus, but does Jesus know you?
Ye have not cause ye asked not. When there is a fire, you don't just sit there- you run for help. Jesus wants to help now. Pray now. A great weight will be lifted off your shoulders.
Please pray right out loud. Dear Jesus, I'm a sinner. I believe you are the Son of God and died for my sins on the cross. Forgive all my sins, remove all of my doubts. I ask you to come into my life. Give me your spirit and your power. Help me to follow and obey your commandments and live for you. Jesus, I give you my life. Thank you for hearing my prayer, Jesus, thank you for coming into my life. I ask it in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Please read your Bible every day. Start now. Find a good Bible teaching church with scriptural baptism (being submerged) and be baptized. Attend church on a regular basis.
